TAKING STEPS TOGETHER
TO MAKE RECRUITMENT
TRULY ANTI-RACIST
Does your Panhellenic chapter, a national organization, or council need a deep dive into anti-racism? Want to work together on how to dismantle white supremacy and racist ideologies within the process, policy, and procedure in Panhellenic recruitment? Well, this program might be perfect. This program intends to build community, identify issues within the current recruitment process, and help the participants take steps to create a truly anti-racist process. Think about the microaggressions and overt racist actions that happen within the process, and now think about how if we all work together this experience can truly be a place for POC and Black women to come together and truly feel included. If you have ever been told to wear nude heels, straighten your hair, or be taken back when you have read a policy that seemed to exclude WOC, then this program can help!
This program is based on the popular programming Jamie offered in June 2020 called Nude Heels. Are you looking to truly make a change and take those steps together? This program could be the right fit for your chapter, organization, or community!
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Participants are brought together to have a conversation and actively learn from each other
Participants will be put in spaces (virtual or in-person) that help to create space to identify and share ways that racism, microagreesions, and white supremacy are integrated within Panhellenic sorority recruitment
Participants will leave feeling empowered to take the next steps to create change in their spheres of influence as it relates to helping themselves, their organizations, and their chapters become Anti-racist.
