NAVIGTATING BROTHERHOOD & BEYOND
LETTERS TO MY SON
In this newest keynote, "Letters to My Son", I will work to empower students with the tools and resources needed to successfully navigate their fraternity experience from recruitment to graduation.
This is a customizable keynote presentation that is delivered from my perspective as a parent, utilizing the metaphor of a letter to my son where I share the heartfelt concerns and valuable lessons about navigating brotherhood with respect, responsibility, and care.
In sum, “Letters to My Son” aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to navigate the complexities of fraternity life with responsibility, respect, and care - fostering a community that is safe, supportive, and ultimately enriching for all members.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
PREPARATIONS AND CONSIDERATIONS FOR JOINING A FRATERNITY
This program equips students with the knowledge and resources they need to critically evaluate potential fraternities and make informed decisions that align with their personal values and expectations. It clarifies hazing understanding , highlights key considerations during recruitment week, and emphasizes the importance of finding a community that promotes personal growth and healthy relationships.

UNDERSTANDING BOUNDARIES & CONSENT
Through interactive activities and open discussions, this program dives into the complexities of boundaries and consent. Students will learn to effectively communicate their own needs, respect the boundaries of others, and recognize and respond to situations where consent is unclear or violated. Additionally, the program explores the impact of power dynamics and social pressure on consent decisions.

DEVELOPING ACTIVE BYSTANDER INTERVENTION SKILLS
This program empowers students to become active bystanders and create a culture of intervention within their fraternity. It delves into the UNFROZEN ®️ BYSTANDER MODEL providing practical strategies for intervening in potentially harmful situations and advocating for others. Interactive scenarios and role-playing exercises will equip students with the confidence and tools to act effectively.
